Update: CFR Infrastructure and CFR Călători have announced that train traffic is resumed as per the usual schedule after they agreed to a joint commitment to settle outstanding debts and offset mutual claims, most importantly regarding the tariff for the use of the railway infrastructure.
Previously, CFR Călători, the section of the railway operator that handles passengers, noted in a press release the “acute underfunding of the system” and the fact that the money for the travel facilities granted by the Romanian state is delayed.
