Romania’s former anti-corruption head, featured in Harvard exhibition on women inspiring change

Romania's former chief anticorruption prosecutor Laura Codruta Kovesi has been included in the 6th Harvard Law International Women’s Day Portrait Exhibit. The exhibition showcases the “astounding contributions of women around the world to the areas of law and policy.”

The honorees are nominated by Harvard Law School students, faculty or staff. They are considered “powerful voices in their respective fields, whether they are sitting on a high court bench, standing in front of a classroom, or marching in the streets.”

Kovesi, who currently stands good chances to be appointed chief prosecutor of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO), is featured alongside personalities such as American politician and lawyer Stacey Abrams; American women's rights attorney Gloria Allred; law professor Monica Bell; India civil rights activist Sudha Bharadwaj; Puerto Rican politician and philanthropist Sila María Calderón; former New Zealand prime minister Helen Clark; congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ayanna Pressley; and Chief United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit Diane Wood, among others.

The exhibition is occasioned by International Women’s Day. The portraits of the honorees are displayed in the Wasserstein Hall, at Harvard Law School.
