A vegetation fire broke out in the Vacaresti Delta in Bucharest on April 5, affecting an area of several hectares. It was extinguished by the end of the day.
The area affected by the fire is about 15,000 square meters.
"There are no injured people. It is a fire with intense manifestation. The dry vegetation in the area of the park and the Vacaresti Delta is burning," Daniel Vasile, spokesman for the Bucharest-Ilfov Emergency Situations Inspectorate, said when the fire broke out, Wall-street.ro reported.
Vacaresti Nature Park, also known as Vacaresti Delta, is a nature park in Bucharest, Romania, containing the wetlands surrounding Lake Vacaresti. Having 190 hectares, the area where the park stands was part of a large swampy area on the outskirts of Bucharest.
