Romania local elections: Meet the six district mayors of Bucharest, the new wave in local politics

The September 27 local elections brought significant changes to the local administration of Bucharest. Not only that mathematician and activist Nicusor Dan was elected the new general mayor of Bucharest, replacing Social Democrat Gabriela Firea, but the capital also has four new district mayors. Only two mayors managed to get re-elected, and only one of them represents the Social Democratic Party - PSD (in the last four years, all of Bucharest's mayors were Social Democrats). Five of the six district mayors are in their 40s and are rather new in politics, coming from other areas. Find below brief profiles of all six district mayors.
