Discovery Romania joins Earth Hour, stops broadcasting for one hour

Discovery Romania has decided to join the Earth Hour movement and will stop broadcasting for one hour on Saturday evening, March 27, when the event is scheduled to take place. The documentary television will only display a message saying “Discovery Channel: We have turned off the light to celebrate Earth Hour” on Saturday evening between 20:30 and 21:30, reports local Paginademedia.ro. Before and after this hour, the television will broadcast two documentaries about the Earth’s resources and the human impact on biodiversity, according to Discovery representatives. Earth Hour is an international event that takes place each year in the last Saturday of March. It encourages people to turn off all electrical devices for one hour and aims to draw attention to the environmental impact of electricity production.
