The former Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Bucharest has been given fines summing up to RON 100,000 by the consumer protection body (ANPC) after the institutions spotted irregularities such as expired food, cracked windows and uninsulated cables, News.ro reported.
As the problems were spotted repeatedly, ANPC proposed closing parts of the accommodation unit the issues are fixed.
Following the last inspection on May 19, six fines in a total amount of RON 50,000 were given.
At that time, the inspectors decided to permanently stop the sale of products with irregularities, to temporarily close the kitchen until the deficiencies were remedied, and also to close the ten rooms and the SPA center.
The ANPC commissioners also proposed, following this control, the temporary closure of the hotel for a maximum of six months.
