Sibiu airport reaches over 530,000 passengers in 2017

Over 533,000 passengers passed through Romania’s Sibiu International Airport in 2017, the highest number in the airport’s history.

The traffic increased by about 37% compared to 2016, when the airport was transited by 390,000 passengers.

Five airlines currently connect the Sibiu airport to nine cities in Europe. The busiest routes in 2017 were the ones to München, London, Stuttgart, Dortmund, Nurnberg, Madrid, and Vienna.

Starting June 2018, the Sibiu airport will add five new routes, to Brussels, Copenhagen, Paris, Basel, and Frankfurt, thus reaching 14 routes. The number of flights on the popular routes will also increase this year.
