Sales of Romanian Dacia up 27% in Germany in H1 2017

The sales of the Renault-owned Dacia brand in Germany went up 27.1% in the first half of 2017 with 31,453 cars, according to data from the German Federal Authority for Transport (KBA), quoted by Automotive News Europe and Reuters.

New car sales in Germany climbed up 3.1% in the first six months of the year, to 1.78 million units. Volkswagen and BMW reported drops in sales of 3.8% and 2.8% respectively for the first half of 2017, while Renault and Ford delivered 16.2% and 4.3% more units respectively.

New car registrations on the German market dropped by 3.5% to 327,693 units in June. Dacia reported a drop of 2.2%, to 5,355 cars. Volkswagen and BMW reported decreases of 5% and 17.8%, Ford reported a decline of 9.3%, while Renault’s deliveries went up 21.6%.

Vehicle registrations in Germany, the largest European market, are expected to go up 2% in 2017.
