Punters prefer football, tennis or box, as well as dog races or minute lotteries.

The local market is estimated at over EUR 1 billion per year, according to SafeCharge, reports local Economica.net.

Romania has introduced laws on online gambling last year.

About 19 gambling companies currently have the license for operating online. According to the Romanian Office for Gambling, the gambling companies paid taxes of EUR 269 million last year, up by 71.3% compared to 2014.
