Romanians are more optimistic about the evolution of the economy in the European Union (EU) than about Romania’s economic evolution, according to a recent Eurobarometer survey.

The survey shows that 31% of Romanians believe the EU economy will have a positive evolution in the next 12 months, compared to only 21% of the Europeans. Meanwhile, only 27% of Romanians have positive expectations related to Romania’s economic evolution, compared to an EU average of 49%, local Agerpres reported.

Only 54% of Romanians consider that the financial situation of their household is good, compared to a EU average of 71%, and 42% are happy with their job, compared to 61% of the Europeans.

The growing inflation and rising living costs are the main concern among Romanians while Europeans are more concerned with migration and terrorism, the survey shows.
