Romanian city hosts opening round of 2017 Tour European Rally in early-May
The Tour European Rally (TER) series will start with Romania’s Transilvania Rally this year, which will take place in Cluj-Napoca in early-May.
“Transilvania Rally will take place on May 5 and May 6 in Cluj-Napoca, being the second round of the national championship but also the opening round of Tour European Rally (TER), recognized by the International Automobile Federation. It will be very interesting, a first for Cluj, taking place on asphalt. We wanted to take the city’s name to the European championship and we succeeded,” Marco Tempestini, manager of Napoca Rally Academy Cluj-Napoca team, told local Mediafax.
After the round in Cluj-Napoca, the 2017 Tour European Rally will continue with Kenotek Ypres Rally in Belgium (June 23-24), Rali Vinho da Madeira in Madeira Island (August 3-5), Skoda Rallye Liezen in Austria (September 29-30), Rallye International du Valais (October 26-28), and Rally Tuscan Rewind in Italy (November 24-26).
