Romanian central bank governor: We need to keep macroeconomic stability

Macroeconomic stability is like health: you realize how important it is after you lose it, said Romania’s National Bank governor Mugur Isarescu during a press conference on Thursday. He warned that the politicians should be cautious during 2016, which is a general elections year. They need to take it easy when they give, to avoid the situation where they have to take back, Isarescu said, reports local Agerpres. He was referring to the generous measures typically adopted by politicians during election years to increase their popularity. They tend to spend public money without caution.
