Romanian businesswoman plans to go international with her new coffee shop concept

Romanian bakery and pastry company Ana Pan, owned by the Copos family, plans to develop its new coffee shop concept internationally, in 2017, the company’s representatives recently announced.

Ana Pan, which is run by Alexandra Copos de Prada, recently opened its first Ana Baking Co. coffee shop, on Calea Dorobantilor boulevard in Bucharest. The company has invested some EUR 150,000 in planning, design and development of the new concept

“Our objective is to consolidate the new brand and we plan to open a new unit in the near future. In the following years we aim to reach 5-7 Ana Baking Co. locations in Bucharest and other cities in Romania, and in 2017 we plan to take the concept to the international market,” said Catalin Metehau, general manager of Ana Pan.

Ana Baking Co. serves a mix of freshly made pastry, sweets and “on-the-go” food. New York coffee shops were the main inspiration source for this new concept, according to Alexandra Copos de Prada.

The menu is a creation of Ashlie Dias, Executive Chef of Crowne Plaza hotel in Bucharest. Italian architect Stefano Ricci created the design for the new coffee shop.

Ana Pan owns a total of 19 pastry shops in Bucharest and more than 150 employees.
