Romanian car sharing service Perpetoo launches in four cities
Two Romanian entrepreneurs have launched on the local market the first car-sharing service that gives car owners the possibility to rent their cars to other users.
The service will initially be available in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, and Timisoara.
Car owners first have to register them on the web page of the application. The service accepts cars produced after 2010, which have valid mandatory insurance and technical inspection. The cars must also be equipped in compliance with the law (including winter/summer tires, medical kit, reflective triangles, fire extinguisher, reflective vest). They must be passenger cars with at most 8+1 seats. The company that operates the application will provide free of charge full voluntary car insurance (CASCO) from Uniqua and Renomia.
According to Perpetoo representatives, users who make their car available for rental through this app can earn between RON 1,000 and RON 4,000 (EUR 212 to 450) or more, depending on the car model and the period for which it will be rented. The owners set the rental price.
Perpetoo representatives expect 3,000 car owners to offer their cars for rental and 25,000 rental operations in the first year of activity. They invested EUR 300,000 in developing the platform, which currently has a team of over 30 specialists.
