Yazaki opens new Romanian car cable factory to supply components for Ford's B-Max model

Car cable producer Yazaki has opened a new production unit in Romania, at Caracal, which will supply products for Ford B-Max model, which will be produced in Romania from next year. The investment in this factory was of EUR 10 million. Yazaki already employs 5,000 people in Romania and has invested EUR 85 million in the country since 2003, when it entered the market. The company plans to invest EUR 4 million more in the Caracal production unit, according to the company.

Yazaki Romania had a turnover of EUR 123 million last year and a profit of EUR 9.8 million, according to data from the Finance Ministry. In 2009, financial data indicated a turnover of EUR 128 million and a profit of EUR 5 million. The company has been profitable in Romania since 2005, except for 2008.
