Yahoo! poaches former PayPal head as CEO
Digital media company Yahoo! Inc. appointed former PayPal president Scott Thompson (in picture) as Chief Executive Officer, effective from January 9, 2012. He will also lead the company's board of directors.

Digital media company Yahoo! Inc. appointed former PayPal president Scott Thompson (in picture) as Chief Executive Officer, effective from January 9, 2012. He will also lead the company's board of directors.
Tim Morse, who lead the company in the last several months, after former CEO Carol Bartz resigned, will resume his role as Chief Financial Officer. Thompson was also PayPal's senior VP and Chief Technology officer. He also worked with Inovant, a subsidiary of Visa, and Barclays Global Investors. PayPal grew from 50 million to over 104 million users under his lead, while its revenues more than doubled, from USD 1.8 billion, to over USD 4 billion in 2011. editor@romania-insider.com (photo source: PayPal)
