The wind energy accounted for 23% of Romania’s electricity production on Friday afternoon (April 15). It was the second most important power source, after hydropower, according to the state-controlled electricity transporter Transelectrica. The wind energy production amounted to 1,941 MW on Friday at 2pm whereas the hydropower reached 2,192 MW, representing 26% of the total, reports local Agerpres. Normally, the coal energy ranks first, with a share of over 30%, followed by hydropower, with 25-30% and the nuclear energy, with 20%. The National Meteorology Administration warned on strong wind on Friday. editor@romania-insider.com
