What do Romanians consider to be the biggest threats to their homes?

Almost 40% of Romanians consider fires to be the biggest threat to their homes while 30.5% see earthquakes as being the biggest danger, according to a survey conducted as part of an information campaign on home insurance. About 15% worry about their houses being flooded due to broken pipes and only 10.4% are afraid of thieves breaking into their homes. Landslides (1.8%) and floods (1.9%) come last among the dangers Romanians fear the most when it comes to their homes, reports local Mediafax. The survey was carried on a sample of 1,766 people, 62% of which live in apartment buildings and 78% of which live in cities. Some 43% of the respondents said they had their homes flooded due to broken pipes and 5% had fires at home. The study also shows that almost half of Romanians have heard of a housebreaking that happened in neighboring areas, in their building, on their street, or in the same neighborhood. Moreover, 13.1% of respondents said that they had received a stranger in their home at least once, as the person was pretending to sell goods, conduct repairing works, or was just asking for help. More than 32% of Romanians post travel photos on social networks while on holiday while 18% talk about their holiday plans on Facebook or other such networks.
