Warm end of year for Romania; above average temperatures on Thursday and Friday

Good news of a warm end to 2012 from the National Meteorology Institute, with a +1 to +11 °C range for temperatures during the day on Thursday and Friday (December 27 and 28).

A few clouds and a little bit of rain are expected in the South-Western region of the country. In the evening and at night, light rain and sleet will fall, especially in the South and South-East. There will be snow, especially in the Oriental Carpathians, with weak to moderate winds and -7 to +3°C air temperatures predicted for Thursday. Lower temperatures and fog are expected to hit some areas. On Friday, clouds pack tighter, with light rain in the South and South-West and snow in the mountains. The wind will grow stronger towards the evening, while temperatures will range from minimum values of -9 to +3 °C to maximum values of -2 to +9 °C. Bucharest skies will be slightly cloudy, with a light wind blowing towards the evening on Friday. Temperatures here will go as low as -2 °C, with chances of fog at night, and above the season average temperatures of +8to +9 °C during the day.
