Vodafone ups service revenues and number of clients in Romania

Telecom operator Vodafone Romania registered service revenues of EUR 179.2 million in the quarter ended September 30, 2016, the figure being 3.6% higher than the one reported for the same period last year, on an organic basis. Meanwhile, the total number of clients (mobile, fixed voice, and machine to machine) went over 9.36 million at the end of September this year, representing an increase of 314,794 users as compared to same month of 2015. Out of the total number, more than 8.68 million were mobile customers, according to a company statement. "Our focus on providing innovative and best in class services translates into a continuous increase of our users base. The customers’ appetite for video content is proven by a 102.5% increase of data usage and a 5.5 percentage points growth of smartphone penetration for the quarter ended on September 30. These results were also driven by the recent launch of Supernet 4G+ and of 4GTV+ service, that enable our users to enjoy their favorite video content anytime, anywhere," said Ravinder Takkar, president and CEO Vodafone Romania. At September 30, the mobile postpaid customers represented 41%, and the prepaid customers stood for 59% of the total mobile base.
