Variety on Romanian film 'Morgen': it confirms expectations set by previous Palm d'Or award

Variety magazine has recently published a review of the Romanian film 'Morgen', directed by Marian Crisan, which has recently received four prizes at the Locarno Film Festival. 'the Helmer's 2008 Palm d'or for short “Megatron” set up expectations that that “Morgen” confirms,” the review goes on. “Discreetly controlled lensing and an undistinguished art heart at the film's core reveal a distinct voice in the Romanian landscape and should translate into modest fest coverage with limited Euro arthouse possibilities for this Locarno jury prizewinner,” the Variety writes. A Romania-France-Hungary co-production, the film got the special jury award, the award from the ecumenic jury, an award from the youth jury and the Don Quijote award from the International Cineclub Foundation.
