US group 3M has opened its first innovation center in Romania. It is the company’s 54th center worldwide. The company spends USD 1.8 billion on research and development worldwide, namely 5% of its turnover, said Catalin Velescu, 3M Romania managing director. 3M is a conglomerate of companies that produces more than 55,000 products, including adhesives, abrasives, laminates, passive fire protection, dental and orthodontic products, electronic materials, medical products, car-care products (sun films, polish, wax, car shampoo, treatment for the exterior, interior and the under chassis rust protection), electronic circuits, and optical films.
