UniCredit Leasing grants EUR 275 mln new contracts in Romania in 2012, financing for renewable energy in higher demand

UniCredit Leasing granted EUR 275 million worth of new financing contracts in 2012 in Romania, the company announced. The growth in value of new contracts was of 6 percent. UniCredit Leasing's new contracts covered 20 percent of the new financing on Romania's leasing market in 2012, according to the company's estimations.

Within the new contracts portfolio, financing for renewable energy was worth some EUR 42 million. A half of the total new financing, or some EUR 137 million, went for vehicles, 40 percent on equipment – which includes airplanes and equipment for producing renewable energy, and 9 percent was real estate financing. The company signed 5,000 new leasing contracts in 2012, which was a similar number to 2011. UniCredit Leasing Romania ended 2012 with a portfolio of EUR 564 million, which, according to the company, is the biggest leasing portfolio on the Romanian market. The net profit of the group's financial, operational leasing and insurance brokerage was of EUR 7.9 million, similar to the amount in 2011. editor@romania-insider.com
