Two-thirds of health services provided via health cards in Romania

Two-thirds of the local healthcare services are currently provided through health cards, said Vasile Ciurchea, president of the National Health Insurance House (CNAS). The number of health cards that have been activated amounts to 7 million, namely half of the existing number, reports local Ziarul Financiar. The health card became mandatory starting May 1, this year, and it is necessary when patients go to the doctor. It is the most recent IT project implemented by CNAS, with EUR 22 mln investments. editor@romania-insider.com
