Turkish retailer Colin’s opens new store in Romania, plans USD 20 mln investments in two years

Turkish fashion retailer Colin’s has expanded its local network with a new store in Ploiesti Shopping Mall in Prahova county. The store, which covers 600 sqm, is the retailer’s seventh unit in Romania. It required an investment of EUR 450,000. “This store opening represents an important step in the brand’s development strategy in the next two years, which targets expansion in shopping centers of strategic importance such as Ploiesti Shopping City, with high traffic and visibility. We plan to invest USD 20 million in Romania by end-2016, and to expand the network to 25 units,” said Alparslan Varol, Country Manager Colin’s. Ploiesti Shopping City is the largest shopping mall in Prahova county, with a leasable area of 55,000 sqm and some 2,000 parking places. It hosts over 100 stores such as Zara, H&M, Bershka, Stradivarius, Noriel and Yves Rocher. Inaugurated in 1983 in Istanbul, Colin’s now runs over 600 stores in 38 countries.
