Tobacco producer JTI Romania moves HQ to 5,000 sqm building near its Bucharest factory

Tobacco producer JTI Romania recently inaugurated its new headquarters on Dimitrie Pompei Blvd. in Bucharest. The 5,000 sqm building is located next to the company's factory and has four levels, housing over 200 employees, from the total of around 1,000. It has 14 meeting rooms, nine coffee areas and four smoking lounges. The renovation and expansion process started in April 2013 and was completed in May this year, as scheduled. “The extended building now allows all HQ staff to be located under the same roof without the need for additional rented space ,” according to the company. JTI is one of the ten largest taxpayers in Romania. It has been active on the local market since 1993 and so far it made investments of some EUR 100 million. In 2012, JTI Romania invested EUR 25 million in its production facilities, which also involved the creation of more than 125 new jobs. Irina Popescu, irina.popescu@romania-insider.com
