Telekom ends bill payment contract with Romanian Post

Telekom Romania clients will no longer be able to pay their bills at the Romanian Post units starting February 1. “Telekom Romania announces termination of the contracts with the Romanian Post, starting February 1, 2018, for the payment invoices related to mobile and fixed services contracts, as a result of Romanian’s Post non-observance of the contractual obligations,” reads a company press release. Telekom says its clients can use some 40,000 points of payment (own shops network, retailers network, partner banks, ATMs and cash machines), in the urban and rural areas, where they can pay their invoices. Clients also have several online payment options. Telekom’s decision to terminate its contract with the Romanian post comes as a surprise, given that the Communications Ministry is a shareholder in both companies, owning a majority stake in the Post and a minority one in Telekom. Meanwhile, the Romanian Post continues to develop its partnerships with online retailers. The Post announced on Monday a new partnership with Fashion Days, one of the biggest online fashion retailers. The online store’s clients will be able to have their parcels delivered at some 500 postal units all over the country.
