Taxpayers in Bucharest and Ilfov can pay their taxes by card

Individual taxpayers from Bucharest and Ilfov county will be able to pay their taxes by card at the tax agency – ANAF’s units starting Monday, August 29. ANAF has installed 37 POS systems in 21 locations to facilitate card payments. So far, card payments haven’t been possible at ANAF units because these didn’t have the necessary equipment. Thus, people who wanted to pay taxes had to bring cash. Romania’s Finance Ministry and the tax agency ANAF have promised to modernize their system and allow card payments at the ANAF units as well as online. Card payments at ANAF units have also been implemented in ten other counties, including Timis, Arad, Buzau, Galati, and Constanta. ANAF has also been carrying out a public tender to select a bank to process online tax payments by card through the ghiseul.ro portal.
