Ride booking app Taxify launches in Bucharest

The Bucharesters now have a new way of calling a taxi, as ride booking app Taxify was launched in the Romanian capital on Friday, August 12. The app is available for both iOS and Android systems. Once installed, it can be used both in Bucharest, as well as in any other cities in the world where Taxify is available. “Taxify is the leading transport app in 15 markets in Europe and Africa, with over 600,000 clients. […] Romania is one of the biggest markets in Europe, and we see that there is big potential to bring a better transport service to the market – cheaper for customers and drivers,” said Markus Vilig, CEO Taxify. Taxify offers a fixed price per km, no matter how far the car is from the users’ address, and the payment is made within the app. Bucharesters can also benefit from a free ride of up to RON 20 with the promotional code Bucuresti. Taxify was established in 2013 in Estonia and connects riders with local taxis and private drivers. It is available in several countries such as Netherlands, Serbia, Belarus, Finland, Czech Republic, Latvia, Georgia, Lithuania, Mexico, and Hungary. Its main competitor on the local market is Uber.
