Study: Employement expectatios in Romania, at highest level for third quarter of 2011

Over a quarter of the Romanian employers, 28 percent, intend to employ people in the third quarter of 2011, these being the most optimistic hiring plans since 2008, according to the Employment Outlook Survey released by Manpower Romania. Just 8 percent of employers expect to decrease their number of employees, while 63 percent predict no change in their payrolls.

“We are optimistic regarding the results of this edition of Manpower Employment Outlook Survey,” said Valentin Petrof, Country Manager of Manpower Romania. “We also see several signs of improvement at the regional and sector levels, indicating that employers are more confident that the labor market recovery will continue”, he added. Across Romania, the most optimistic hiring plans are reported by employers in the South-East of Romania, where the net employment outlook stands at 35 percent. The most ambitious hiring plans are in the mining and quarrying sector, where employment is forecast at 34 percent. The construction sector also has ambitious employment plans for the next period, reporting an outlook of 27 percent. Hiring expectations remain mixed in the Europe, Middle East and Africa, regional hiring plans being the strongest in the Eastern European countries of Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria and Poland and weakest in Spain, Greece and Italy, according to the survey. The Manpower Employment Outlook Survey for the third quarter 2011 was conducted by interviewing a representative sample of 765 employers in Romania. Manpower is present in Romania since 2003, with branches in Bucharest, Timisoara, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Craiova, Ploiesti and Pitesti.
