State-owned Nuclearelectrica plans to sell EUR 80 mln worth of electricity on Romanian power exchange OPCOM

Romanian state-owned company Nuclearelectrica, which runs the Cernavoda nuclear power plant, intends to sell 2.3 TWh of electricity - almost a quarter of the estimated production for this year, for RON 373.7 million (some EUR 80 million), on the local power exchange OPCOM. The bid is scheduled for March 20. The price asked by the company is RON 163 (around EUR 36) per MWh and the delivery time is March 28, 2014 - March 31, 2016, writes local daily Wall-street.ro. Nuclearelectrica plans to produce a total of 10.5 million MWh of electricity in 2014. According to the company’s preliminary results, Nuclearelectrica ended 2013 with a preliminary profit of RON 417.3 million (EUR 94.6 million), up from RON 24.1 million (EUR 5.4 million) reported a year before.
