Starbucks increases revenues in Romania

The company that owns the Starbucks franchise in Romania, Marinopoulos Coffee Company III, posted a turnover of EUR 8.2 million last year, up 17% compared to 2013. Its net profit almost doubled, to EUR 1.5 million. The company operates 13 cafes in Romania. The opening of a new cafe in the Unirea area, in downtown Bucharest, together with the opening of its high-end cafe Starbucks Reserve Strip Mall in Pipera, northern Bucharest , in the first part of last year, could account for the company’s revenue growth, reports local Wall-street.ro. Starbucks runs similar high-end units in London, Moscow, and Amsterdam. Starbucks plans to reach 35 coffee shops in Romania in five years. editor@romania-insider.com
