Saint-Gobain Glass wants to launch new production line in Romania

French group Saint Gobain analyzes the possibility of launching a new production line for special glass for windshields, in 2018, according to Norbert Teschner, general manager of Saint-Gobain Glass Romania. The investment would create around 130 jobs. The company will try to get state aid for the future investment, reports local Wall-street.ro. The project needs to be approved at group level. “The decision is not yet signed. In early 2017 we will be certain,” said Teschner. Saint-Gobain entered the local market ten years ago and has invested EUR 180 million in its local factories so far. Close to 500 people currently work in Saint Gobain Romania’s factories and about 60% of the local production goes to export. The company estimates sales of close to EUR 80 million this year, up 10% compared to last year. editor@romania-insider.com
