Ruukki Romania posts 70% growth in business in first nine months

Metal building materials manufacturer Ruukki Romania, subsidiary of the Finish Rautaruukki Group, posted a growth in business of 70 percent in the first nine months of 2011, compared to the same period in 2010, according to the company. The growth was mainly sustained by Ruukki’s involvement in largest projects of logistics centers and sports arenas in 2011, and the fact that the company consolidated its position on the metal tile roof systems market. Ruukki Romania reported a growth of 40 percent in exports in the first nine months of this year compared to the same period last year, while the company’s special steels division, Ruukki Metals reached a market share of over 30 percent. “The components and roofs segments are the most attractive in the business structure and represent the largest share in turnover,” said Marian Pirvu, Business Manager Central Eastern Europe (in picture). From the components division, the refrigeration panels reported the biggest number of deliveries. The Finish Group entered the Romanian market in 2001. Ruukki Romania posted constant growth of 10 percent in business over the last years. Worldwide, the company is active on 27 markets and posts yearly sales of around EUR 2 billion.
