Romania's tax authority issues EUR 5 mln fines to wholesale trade centers

Romania’s tax authority ANAF issued fines of almost EUR 5 million during the controls carried out at wholesale trade centers between mid-October and the beginning of December. The inspectors closed 230 companies out of a total number of 3,350 units checked, for not having cash registers. A third of the companies that received fines were located in the Dragonul Rosu shopping center in Bucharest, known for the high number of Chinese investors who operate there. In October, the tax inspectors initiated a series of controls in 60 wholesale trade centers in Romania, in an operation called Cristal. They will continue to make such controls until Christmas, ANAF warned. editor@romania-insider.com
