Romania's Tax Administration collects fines worth EUR 35 mln

The Romanian Tax Administration ANAF collected 3.19% more fines in 2014 over the previous year. The institution imposed about 36,000 fines worth EUR 30.9 million and collected about 50,000 of them, worth EUR 35.7 million. The authority did not explain what caused the difference. ANAF checked about 133,000 taxpayers, down 36.3% over the previous year. It raised an additional EUR 3.17 billion for the budget and decreased the fiscal loss with EUR 353.3 million. The institution collected about 3,800 fines in December last year, worth EUR 3.3 million, and imposed about 2,600 fines worth EUR 2.34 million.
