The stake owned by the Romanian state in telecom operator Romtelecom is worth between EUR 300 million and EUR 600 million, according to Razvan Cotovelea, minister for Information Society. “By the end of this semester, our consultant will tell us what is the best method of privatization in financial terms and as period of time,” said the minister, adding that selling a minority stake held by the state in Romtelecom is a priority for the government. Romtelecom is controlled by Greek OTE – 54 percent of the shares, and by the Romanian state, with the rest. editor@romania-insider.com
