Romania's Peninsula festival moves 100 kilometers from Targu Mures this year

The Peninsula festival, which used to take place every summer near Targu Mures in Romania, will move close to Cluj – Napoca, 100 kilometers away. The 11th edition of the Peninsula festival will be organized on a 10-hectare plot in the Garbaului Valley area in Cluj – Napoca. The Cluj city hall will co-finance the festival, as well as take care of all the services needed, such as electricity, public transport to the area, public lightning, roads and media promotion, said the city's mayor Emil Boc. The festival organizers said the location change is meant to ensure a clear future for the festival and turn it into one of the most important in Eastern Europe. The event will take place between July 18 and 23 this year. The festival has brought on stage names such as The Prodigy, Korn, Nine Inch Nails, Iggy Pop, Stooges, The Straits, Kasabian, Europe, The Rasmus, Tiesto, ATB, among others, in its ten-year existence so far. It has attracted over 400,000 visitors so far. The Delahoya electronic music festival will be organized together with the Peninsula festival team, and will take place in the same Garbaului Valley area in Cluj – Napoca, between June 14 and 15.
