Romania’s Nuclearelectrica plans to sell EUR 15 mln worth of electricity on local power exchange OPCOM

Romanian state-owned company Nuclearelectrica, which runs the Cernavoda nuclear power plant, plans to sell electricity worth RON 66 million (or some EUR 14.8 million) on the local power exchange OPCOM. The company wants to sell almost 400,000 MWh of electricity through several bids scheduled for April 28. Nuclearelectrica plans to produce a total of 10.5 million MWh of electricity in 2014. The Romanian state is the majority shareholder of the company. Earlier this year, another state - owned energy producer, Hidroelectrica sold 919,800 MWh of electricity on the local power exchange OPCOM during a bid organized on April 8, for a total of RON 153 million (EUR 35 million). The average price was RON 166.58 per MWh and the electricity will be delivered between May , 2014 and April 30, 2015.
