Romania's largest online retailer will hire 500 extra people for Black Friday event

eMAG, the largest player in the e-commerce market in Romania, expects sales of over RON 250 million (EUR 55.2 million) during the Black Friday shopping event this year, said Iulian Stanciu, eMAG CEO. The company will come up with an offer of one million products at discounted prices, and has hired some 500 people to handle the high number of orders on this day, reports local Ziarul Financiar. “We estimate that we’ll have around seven million visits on the website. I think we’ll have around 350,000 customers that will buy. We estimate that around 30% of the sales will be from mobile (devices),” Stanciu added. This year eMAG has included on the Black Friday list some 40,000 TV sets, 50,000 smartphones, and almost 20,000 refrigerators. “We have over 100,000 sets of perfumes, 100,000 toys, 100,000 diapers. We expect to deliver all products within 10 days,” said Tudor Manea, eMAG Romania general director. The company will collaborate with six courier companies to deliver the products.
