Romania's largest online retailer sells products of over EUR 45 mln on Black Friday

Romania’s largest online retailer eMag recorded sales of RON 202 million (EUR 45.4 million) on Black Friday, November 20. eMag registered about 370,000 customers, which were simultaneously on the website, while the number of ordered products amounted to 602,000. For the first time, the orders made via mobile exceeded those made on desktop. Mobile accounted for 51% of the 5.5 million visits on the eMag website. The biggest online retailer sold 29,000 TVs, 22,000 perfumes, 18,600 toys and 13,400 laptops. The retailer also sold gold bars and coins to 1,050 customers, in partnership with Piraeus Bank. In total, clients bought 9.4 kilograms of gold.
