Romania's largest insurer ups turnover by 7%

The largest insurer in Romania, Allianz –Tiriac, underwrote gross premiums of over RON 1 billion (EUR 224 mln) last year, up by 7% compared to 2014. The company increased its sales in the general insurance segment, which reached EUR 214 million (up by 7.5% compared to 2014). The insurer recorded sales of EUR 24.6 million in the life insurance segment (up by 4.9%). It paid compensation of some EUR 100 million last year, up by 7% compared to 2014. The largest claim reached some EUR 717,000, and it was paid in the mandatory car insurance segment for a car accident abroad. In the property segment, the largest paid damage totaled EUR 180,000, and it was due to a fire. editor@romania-insider.com
