The Romanian industrial turnover in the first nine months, for both domestic and foreign markets, has increased by 8.9%. The growth was registered mainly due to the increase in the manufacturing industry – up 9% and the mining and quarrying sector – up 7.6%, according to data from the National Statistics Institute INS. On main industrial groups, increases were registered in all sectors: energy industry – 21.8%, durable goods – 12%, capital goods – 8.8%, intermediate goods – 8.6% and consumer goods – 4.3%. In September, the industrial turnover went up by 18.3% month-on-month and by 8.5% when compared to September 2013, shows the INS data. Irina Popescu, irina.popescu@romania-insider.com
