Romania’s Hidroelectrica appoints new purchase manager

State-owned power producer Hidroelectrica appointed Viorel Cerchez as purchase and logistics manager after a recruiting process that was coordinated by insolvency firm Euro Insol, the company’s legal administrator, and HR consultancy firm Pedersen&Partners, the company announced. Viorel Cerchez comes from the private sector. He worked as procurement director for Tiriac Holdings, one of the largest groups of private companies in Romania, owned by Romanian businessman Ion Tiriac. From this position he coordinated acquisitions for some of the largest projects of Tiriac Holdings, such as real-estate projects Stejarii and Residenz, but also Mutua Madrid Open, according to his LinkedIn page. Before working for Tiriac Holdings, Cerchez was operations manager for HP’s regional supply center and purchase manager for Chubb Ireland Group. editor@romania-insider.com
