Romania's FX reserves drop by EUR 113 million

Romania’s foreign exchange reserves dropped by EUR 113 million in February 2015 compared to the previous month. They went from EUR 30.6 billion on January 31 to EUR 30.48 billion, according to the Romanian National Bank (BNR). In February, the BNR reserves recorded inflows of EUR 659 million and outflows of EUR 772 million. Romania reimbursed about EUR 343 million to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Gold reserves stood at 103.7 tonnes, which were estimated at EUR 3.58 billion, given the evolution of international prices. Romania’s international gold reserves on February 28 amounted to EUR 34.062 billion, compared to EUR 34.3 billion on January 31, 2015.
