Romania's betting market exceeds EUR 1 bln

More than one million Romanians engage constantly in sports betting, according to SafeCharge, which provides payment technologies in this sector. Punters prefer football, tennis or box, as well as dog races or minute lotteries. The local market is estimated at over EUR 1 billion per year, according to SafeCharge, reports local Economica.net. Romania has introduced laws on online gambling last year. About 19 gambling companies currently have the license for operating online.
