Quickmobile: Romanians buy iPhone X smartphones worth EUR 1.5 mln in three days

The local online gadget retailer Quickmobile has recorded 1,200 pre-orders for the new iPhone X in just three days, the total value amounting to over EUR 1.5 million, reports Wall-street.ro. iPhone X pre-orders kicked off last Friday, October 27. On average, a Romanian paid EUR 1,250 in advance for the new top Apple smartphone. Half of the pre-orders were made for the 64GB iPhone X, with most of those who chose this model preferring the space grey color. The rest were for the 256 GB version of the new smartphone, also in space grey. “The Romanians' appetite for Apple phones is growing, and we have been able to see this easily over the years. If last year the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus models recorded 1,000 pre-orders, this year the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X generated more than 1,800 pre-orders,” said Tudor Tiboc, general manager Quickmobile. Quickmobile sells the 64 GB iPhone X for RON 5,299 (over EUR 1,100), while the 256 GB costs RON 6,099 (EUR 1,300). The new iPhone X was presented in mid-September this year, alongside the new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus smartphones. iPhone X comes with an all‑new 5.8‑inch Super Retina screen, no home button, and face ID.
