Romanian telecom operator pays EUR 8.9 mln dividends

Romanian telecom operator RCS&RDS will pay RON 40 million (EUR 8.9 million) dividends to its shareholders from the profits recorded in previous years. The dividends will be paid by the end of this year. The company recorded losses in 2013 and 2014 as well as in 2010 and 2011. However, it had profits in 2012 and 2009. The cumulated net result in the 2009-2014 period was a RON 132 million (some EUR 29 million). The operator’s biggest shareholder is local businessman Zoltan Teszari. RCS&RDS is the biggest cable TV and fixed broadband internet provider in Romania. The group has 2.5 million subscribers for cable TV and 1.8 million subscribers for fixed internet. editor@romania-insider.com
