Romanian TCE Holding invests EUR 0.5 mln in a new books and CDs sorting line

Romanian logistics and courier company TCE Holding has invested EUR 0.5 million in a new business line for sorting and labeling books and CDs. The company says it can now process some 8,000 units per hour.

Through this new line, the company wants to offer complete logistics services to publishers and companies in the film, music and software areas. “A complete logistics service means storage, transport, distribution and merchandising, in other words, we offer to take over some operations that are not part of the core business for companies on the book, film, or music markets,” said Sorin Sofian, CEO TCE Holding. TCE Holding’s investment in this new business line targets a market estimated at some EUR 12 million. “The EUR 12 million relates to the expenses with logistics, transport and services such as the merchandising, which companies on this market are required to pay annually. With the new sorting machine at TCE Holding Bucharest, the companies have a new service,” said Sorin Sofian. The logistics company now operates in two hubs, in Bucharest and Brasov, and two mini-hubs in Bacau and Cluj. At the end of 2011, TCE Holding had a total of 1,100 employees. The company posted a turnover of EUR 21 million last year, backed up by increasing externalization of logistics and transport services.
