Romanian Tax Agency president could earn EUR 10,000 per month

Dragos Doros, the head of the Romanian Tax Agency (ANAF), has recently published his wealth statement on the institution’s website. He had an average salary of about EUR 6,500 per month at his previous job at KPMG, but could make more money as head of ANAF. Gelu Diaconu, who was the former ANAF president, earned EUR 10,000 per month, according to his last wealth statement, reports local Economica.net. The salary for leading ANAF amounts to EUR 1,000 per month. However, most of the earnings come from taking part in the boards of several state-owned companies. Diaconu earned EUR 4,600 from the state-owned lender Eximbank, EUR 4,000 from the state-owned bank CEC, and about RON 3,000 (EUR 671) from GDF Suez Romania, where he was also a board member. According to the wealth statement of the new ANAF president, he bought an apartment in 2015 for which he had contracted a 30-year loan from BRD.
